A few locals and a couple of holidaymakers joined in, in yet another successful Witsand beach clean-up on Sunday, 16 April.
Below is a list of most common waste collected during the clean-up. This should give you a good indication of items that are of local concern.
- Bottle caps (plastic) – 62
- Plastic bits – 55
- Food wrappers – 50
- Other plastic bags – 36
- Other plastic or foam packaging – 35
- Straws – 33
- Beverage bottles (plastic) – 31
If we dispose of our litter in the correct manner, we would have cleaner beaches and healthier oceans.
