The mission of the LBRCT is to conserve and protect in a sustainable manner, the natural resources and living species in the biological and ecologically sensitive Breede River Estuary and the adjoining land areas while at the same time promoting safe and lawful recreational use

The LBRCT has a small team that works with conservation and research organisations, as well as law enforcement agencies, to achieve its objectives. LBRCT boats patrol the river regularly, diligently taking water samples, doing bird counts, and checking licences and compliance. Please cooperate with their requests, they are working for you.
